One of the most important samskaras (life transition ceremonies) we perform is weddings. Whether the ceremony is styled as traditional Vedic (Indian), modern Western or a creative blend, we accommodate all types for both wedding and reception. Our Temple Priest, Caru das Adikary, has performed over 150 weddings, and is an engaging, profound and entertaining officiant.
The Vedic ceremony Caru Das performs is a gem of religious sanctity for Hindu and other couples. All Sanskrit verses and procedures are explained clearly for those assembled, as the family and community are invited to help craft the eternal bond of the wedding couple.
While ceremonies can be performed in other locations, our facilities include the spectacular Lotus Temple, Pavillion, pond and grounds in Spanish Fork, Utah. If you choose, we can provide…
Wedding mandap – traditional four sided structure for Indian marriage ceremonies) decorated with fine fabrics and either fresh or silk flowers.
Flower arrangements – arches for the bride’s entrance, table decorations, vases, garlands, and more.
Entertainment — traditional Indian dancers or musicians, or others. Hosting several large festivals per year, we know many talented performers.
Catering – delicious complete vegetarian meals or finger foods. (You may of course arrange your own catering, or in combination with us, but we ask you not to include meat or alcohol, as per our beliefs.)
Vaibhavi Devi dasa, Caru Das’s wife, is not only the Temple’s architect but a fine artist as well. She has acted as artistic coordinator for many spectacular weddings here (see wedding photos).
In warm weather we can handle a wedding party of up to 500, or up to 200 in the colder seasons.
