Scriptural Study

There is no process more valuable than to absorb Krishna’s virtues, names, forms, and pastimes, and the principles and process of the soul’s evolution.  In the Vedic scriptures these invaluable facets of the spiritual path are addressed in great detail.  Every spiritually aware person has many questions: Who is God?  What is our natural relationship to Him?  Who is each of us in the cosmos?  What is it like to experience God?  Is that the ultimate purpose of human life?

The mind begins in the modes of ignorance (tamoguna) and passion (ragoguna), incessantly generating questions, doubts and fantasies.  However all are answered and calmed by the balm of scriptural knowledge, leaving a sattvic state (mode of goodness) in which the tender vine of devotion can grow.

On the Krishna path, our primary teaching scriptures are the Bhagavad-gita, and the Srimad Bhagavatam
