Weekly Temple Meeting

Vaibhavi had the idea of making a color map of the property with all the places of interest numbered. Then it could be referred to during festivals, and also passed out as a black and white flyer.

We have meetings every Tuesday morning from 8 am – 9:00 am to discuss upcoming events. This morning present were Radha Krishna Das, Aarti Dasi, Vaibhavi Dasi, Caru Dasa, Wendy, & Prem Avatar. Anybody is welcome to attend these meetings or suggest an agenda item .

We discussed the upcoming Diwali festival on November 6th. Signs need to direct visitors from the dining area to the pavilion in the rear of the temple, where Ankith will dance and at least one drama will take place. They are welcome to take their plates of prasadam with them. Vaibhavi had the idea of making a color map of the property with all the places of interest numbered. Then it could be referred to during festivals, and also passed out as a black and white flyer.

Caru inquired of Aarti and Radha Krishna whether we might give them the script and sound track of a drama, which they would consider acting in. Prem Avatar asked to do more mangal artis and is now on for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Vai does Wednesday and Friday, Caru Thursday and Saturday.

Everyone agreed to work together in the garden on Wednesday from 10 am for a couple of hours. Some picking and weeding.

At a later meeting during the day Radha Krishna and Aarti presented a plan to improve the buffet by adding salad dressings, homemade puddings, organic lettuce, homemade cookies, & a better evening offering for the Deites. Radha Krishna will take care of the procurement for these upgrades. Vaibhavi is going to study for the Food Manager’s permit, and everyone else is going to update their Food Handlers permits.

It was noted more people have been coming to yoga classes since school started, and so Hanuman and Wendy designed and printed a flyer for handout. Local people who want to attend the Om Shanti Retreat (Oct. 8 – 10) and sleep at home can do so for a $ 50.00 fee.

Tuesday evenings we hold the Lifestyles class with power point for members. This evening another in the series “If there is One God, why so mnay religions.” These talks will become available on the member section one after another. We have been doing them for a year, so there should already be more than 50 to post. Caru would like to do future presentations on Gayatri Mantra, Madhvacharya, Ramanujacharya etc. These will only be accessible to Members with a password. Lisa & Robert are also working on the transcripts to Sunday classes of which you can see there are several posted for the first time.

Future Sunday classes, which come back from Mona for the power point formatting are : ‘How to Quit Complaining’, ‘How to be Peaceful under Pressure’, & ‘How to Develop Patience.’
