General Information

We have two temples: One located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the other located in Spanish Fork, Utah. We are known for our beautiful temples, which are inspired by Rajasthani architecture from India. The Spanish Fork Krishna’s Lotus Temple was completed in 1998. The Salt Lake City temple is getting a new, beautiful building, and will be completed some time in 2019. The Salt Lake City temple is housed in a building on the premises while construction is under way.

Daily Temple Tours

Every day from 10am – 7pm, tours are available at the SLC and Spanish Fork temples. The temple tour is about 10-30 minutes, and covers the history, beliefs, and deities of Krishna consciousness. The Spanish Fork temple also has an animal park, where you’ll find llamas, cows, peacocks, parrots, and koi fish. Small group drop-ins are welcome, but tour groups of 6 or more will need to book in advance.

Animal Park (Spanish Fork Only)

We rent our llamas to hikers and campers, for llama birthday parties, and more- They have even been featured in TV commercials! Our llamas are extremely friendly and love to eat apples and carrots. Please call Vai at (801) 919-9933 to schedule your tour of the Spanish Fork Temple or Animal Park.

School Field Trips (Spanish Fork Only)

The Spanish Fork temple is perfect for school field trips! Each field trip includes a guided tour of the temple and animal park, a 15-20 minute yoga practice, and vegetarian buffet. The cost per attendee is $5. Please call Vai at (801) 919-9933 to schedule your school tour! We also have a gift shop on site.

Govinda’s Gift Shop

We have a large gift shop at our Spanish Fork temple, and there are various items for sale at the Salt Lake City Temple (gift shop will expand when the new building opens!) We sell skirts, blouses, shawls, jewelry, saris, kurtas, yogi pants, henna cones, wall hangings, statues, brassware, books, cds, posters, incense, oils, & more. The temple gift shops are open from 10am to 8pm.

Krishna Love Feast

Every weekend, enjoy kirtan and a lecture on spiritual living, receive a blessing and enjoy a vegetarian dinner of prasadam, or blessed food. Join us in celebrating the divine through chanting, as we leave the material world behind. Salt Lake City love feasts begin at 7pm every Saturday. Spanish Fork love feasts begin at 5pm every Sunday.

Festivals

From the wildness of Holi (Festival of Colors), to the serenity of Diwali (Festival of Lights) in October, we are famous for our festivals. There are seven per year. Put them on your calendar now! View our calendar here.

About Krishna Consciousness

Practices

Our main tools are spiritual practices, like chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, eating vegetarian prasadam, and reading the Bhagavad-Gita (“Song of God”). We do these things regularly to achieve personal transformation.

Krishna

And of course, learn about Krishna, revered in India for thousands of years as the All-Attractive Lord of Lords and the Source of All Creation. Understand how and why we worship him, and about our lineage of spiritual teachers that stretches back to Krishna himself.

Growing a Family

We hold new member meetings on the first Saturday of every month from 4-5pm at the Salt Lake City temple. Please confirm your spot by calling Govinda Bhakta at (385) 955-9526. Browse through our Steps To Involvement to get a sense of our sangham, or spiritual family. Members can take the Lifestyle 101 Class, the Philosophy 201 Class and login through this website to our online community and premium content.
