Song: Haridas & the Snake

Yo, Hare Krishna.
Story ’bout a saint, pure and true.
Haridas Thakur, name you should know,
Chanting Hare Krishna, watch his devotion grow.

Living in a cave, humble and deep,
Twenty-two hours chanting, while others would sleep.
Sharing that space, a slithering friend,
A venomous snake, right there ’til the end… or so it seemed!

Devotees came by, with offerings in hand,
But saw the reptile, took a fearful stand.
“Yo, Haridas, that snake’s a scary sight!”
They were hesitant to enter, gripped by the fright.

Haridas heard their pleas, understood their dread,
Thought, “Gotta move on, find a new place” instead.
So others could visit, with a smile on their face.

But listen close, the Lord works in ways unseen,
Before Haridas could pack, a surprising scene.
The snake, it just slithered, out of the cave’s door,
Vanished in the jungle, seen by them no more!

The meaning’s profound, listen to the sound,
God’s in every heart, all around!
He protects his devotees, keeps them safe and sound,
No matter the danger, His love can be found.

So trust in the spirit, inside and afar,
Past, present, future, like a shining star.
With Krishna as your guide, you’ll always be right,
Hare Krishna! Filling the world with light!

Jaya Haridas Thakur.
Jaya Haridas Thakur.
Jaya Haridas Thakur.
